Museum Card in Amsterdam

On the one hand, buying a Museumkaart in Amsterdam makes sense for us. But I apparently cannot buy it until I get there. So I am unable to get tickets in advance without my Museumkaart, right? It seems like I can't do both have a Museum Card in hand before leaving for Amsterdam AND buy tickets online before leaving. Anyone have a solution? I'm so afraid I won't be able to get into a couple of the important museums if I wait until I get there.

What tickets did you want to buy in advance? Most sites that accept it simply let you in by showing the card, so no tickets are even required.
