Mom and Daughter Road trip to Germany and Poland

Hello, My daughter and I are doing a one week road trip starting May 19th from her home in Landstuhl to Dresden, Krakow and then Berlin. We plan on visiting Auschwitz, Krakow Medieval Square, Brandenburg Gate and the Berlin Wall. We would appreciate any suggestions for lodging, attractions, hidden gems and weather. Thank you!

Sounds like a great trip, but do you think one week is enough to cover those distances and see 3 cities? Are you driving or going by train? I can only speak for Krakow and Berlin - those two deserve at least 2-3 days each (Berlin a bit more since it's huge and has more attractions). In Krakow, be sure to visit the Jewish Quarter (called Kazimierz) as well as the main square and check out the many churches ( here's St. Mary's Basilica:

Also, the lovely Tatra mountains and Zakopane are worth seeing, but they are a side trip from Krakow. You can find good hotels on trip advisor and booking.com. I think I've already accounted for a week's worth of stuff, so I won't even go into Berlin (there is much, too much to see there in 3 days)..I'll let someone else chime in on Berlin.

Thanks Agnes for the advice. We have decided to leave right from Frankfurt when I arrive and start with Berlin. Then we will go to Krakow and if time runs out we will skip Dresden. This gives us 8 nights which I know is tough (we spent 7 nights in Prague last year) but it's all the time we have. And thanks James - good advice on the pottery and scams. Cheers!
