Metro in Budapest Or Cab???

My wife and I are elderly I walk with a cane and she walks with a wheelie walker. We are arriving from Prague on Bus at Nepliget Station. We have an apartment leased and need to travel approx 10 km. Can we use metro with our luggage and the walker? or is cab a better choice. We heard horrible stories about cabs any suggestions.

Check out Rick Steves Eastern Europe tour book. I used it in Budapest last month and it was very helpful.

Considering all the baggage the taxi is really your best choice..and rick suggests Taxi 6X6 (tel.1/266-6666) or City Taxi (tel.1/211-111)..Last year we easily used the trams and Metro, but without canes or walkers..In general people in the city were very helpful responding to our french/english questions...and my question is: Is Nepliget the correct name? I can't seem to find it on my map.

I'm back to answer my own question after checking another source and yes, Nepliget is the major national/international bus station and although on the metro line i'll stick with the taxi for initial transport.Verify the number for City Taxi..i think it's 211-11-11. We only used a shared shuttle bus going from hotel to airport, and that was booked by the hotel for us
