We are traveling to Croatia early September, 3 adults and 2 children. Found plenty of places to stay but not enough information about the areas around these places. i.e. family friendly, local restaurants, beaches etc... Have read several post about dirty accommodations. So if anyone has a personal recommendation of a great spot and a great stay we would appreciate very much. Our ultimate would be a small house with great view not far from water, nice beach, even small beach is OK. A house with some local character would be nice. We do need access to laundry (kids.). You might want to check VRBO (Vacation Rental by Owner--www.vrbo.com). I really liked Trogir, a lovely beach town near Split.
