Lodging suggestions in Krakow and Warsaw

We are a family of three adults (father, mother and daughter) and would like suggestions for good lodging for Sept 2008. We will be 3 nights (Mon-Thurs)in Krakow and 2 nights (Thurs-Sat)in Warsaw. Several people have written about Hotel Saski in Krakow, but I do not see it listed in Rick Steves 2008 book, does anyone know why? Appreciate any suggestions and descriptions. Thanks!

In Krakow, check the King Hostel. It is very nice, in a good neighborhood, is cheap and has facilities to handle families as it is not a dorm place but one w many private rooms w kitchens and bathrooms

Received a reply from Boutique B&B
in Warsaw, Poland in which they did not have any rooms available in Sept 2008, but kindly offered to set us up in a suite nearby as a decent rate. How reputable are the staff at Boutique B&B? Is this wise to take there recommendation? It sounds fine, would just like to hear if anybody on Rick Steves helpline has used their recommendations and were pleased. Thank you.

I stayed at the Boutique B&B. Its pretty much a small family-run operation. Certainly, the owner is one of the most interesting characters I have met in my travels! I would not doubt him, because he knows that Rick Steves' customers are his life-line.

Interesting that Hotel Saski is not listed in Rick's book anymore. As of two years ago, there was nothing wrong with it, and the location in Krakow can't be beaten. If you're interested, here's the website:

I have secured a lovely apartment with the kind assistance of Pawel Besser from Boutique B&B, Warsaw, Poland. I was their main Boutique was full at the time for our request, but Pawel went above and beyond to be accommodating to our needs for lodging. I was promptly emailed several lovely pictures of other available apartments they also own. Pawel answered all my questions and detailed the descriptions of amenities it was very reasonable, and yes the breakfast and taxes are still included. I wanted to let readers of the Rick Steves know how pleasant and helpful this Boutique B&B has been. They are located at ul.
