Lodging in Budapest in April?

My husband and I are traveling to Budapest in mid-April; our first time there. We are flying into Prague and after spending a few days there, will rent a car and drive to Budapest. Any recommendations for lodging? We'd prefer a mid-priced, centrally-located B&B or boutique hotel to a large, chain hotel. Thanks!

I share your enthusiasm for a great B&B. I would check tripadvisor.com. If that doesn't produce results you could check the K&K Opera Hotel. We liked it. Excellent breakfasts were included.

I stayed at the Hotel Carlton about a year ago. Great location just below the castle hill, and about a 2 minute walk to the chain bridge. Not a huge hotel, but the service was good and my room was very comfortable. I don't recall the price, but I do remember it was very reasonable!!!! http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g274887-d276352-Reviews-Carlton_Hotel_Budapest-Budapest.html http://www.carltonhotel.hu/eng/hotel_budapest.htm

Hi, My wife and have used the Radio Inn on five of our six trips to Budapest. It is a bit funky. We will be there again, in a week. We get an apartment for 32 Euro per night. Yes, an apartment. Now it is very old European style in many ways. Two single beds that you push together so you can be near and dear. You will be a two minute walk of Andrassy ut, between Oktogon Square and Heroes square. The Inn is bracketed by embassies. Breakfast is available but pricey by our standards and we prefer going out anyway. We go to the nearby Coffee House on Andrassy Ut. Great city if you want a good mass transit map email me at [email protected] wayne iNWI
