Following Rick's eastern Europe trip, info please about traveling the train Krakow to Eger. Night train vs. day train. Was unable to pull up the rail schedule/time table on RailEurope.com. And then info about getting to Budapest. Thanks.
You got a lot of trains (all of them) on Deutsche Bahn website. As I remember the only direct train between Krakow and Budapest is a night one. There is no direct train to Eger. You will go via Budapest.
The only direct train is an overnight leaving a little after 10 at night and arriving in Budapest about half past eight. There are two other trains that have only one stop on the way. Trains leave to Eger from Budapest, but most have a switch in Füzesabony--a few go direct. Taking the direct train at 11, you'd end up in Eger about 1 PM. The Hungarian train website: http://elvira.mav-start.hu/ if you want to look for different routes. Sometimes bahn.de doesn't pull up everything
