We will be in Kiev during September and wonder if anyone has suggestions for lodging & transportation. We would appreciate any help you can give. What is best to see and do?

Did you go to Kiev? What is there to see and do there? It seems not many people on this message board know anything about Ukraine. I'm going in May.

I'm also going to Kiev in may... any recommendations as far as sight seeing, restaurants and also clothing requirements to enter cathedrals etc?

Yes, we did go and loved it....what an eye opener....all the traffic was the thickest we have seen in all our travels. We visited Music Mission Kiev, St Paul's Church service, rode the metro/buses,went to flea market, other cathredrals in pastel colors, and Larva Monestary which needed a scarf, no shorts. Trendy dress is worn by the young adults. Americans are known by white tennis shoes, so if you have other shoes, take them. The people do dress up very nicely. Kiev was so different from other towns along the Dneiper River cruise. Who are you going with? Independent? I would be happy to answer any other questions. We loved it. I also have a few words for you, like Pryvit means Hi! Also the cryllic language is alittle difficult, but somehow, we did get around.
