What type of clothing should we plan to take for the temperature of Athens, the surrounding island and Istanbul?
We want to be comfortable and not be offensive to the people of the area.
Is there a breeze blowing in these areas, so as to keep you cooler?

I am GY from izmir & istanbul
In istanbul humudity is very high in July and August.
It is almost ~40 in day time,, 20-35 night time
Prefer white, cotton short arm and bermuda shorts..
and always a hat :)
You wont need sweters etc. only a thin one may be needed while you are on boats and bousfours. and late night only.
Usually we don't advise to walk arround between 12:00-15:00 . prefer close areas for that time.

temparatures are 40C day, 20-25C at night.. not humudity. Humudity average is 60-80%
Greece will be very hot in July. I would bring your lightest sweater. You may need it on the ferries. I doubt you will offend anyone in Greece with what you wear. :)
