Itinerary question (first time in Greece/Croatia/Montenegro/Bosnia)

Hello,
I am trying to plan our 2011 Fall trip and I could really use your help. This would be the tentative route (looking for the easiest/fastest/most straight forward route). And of course if these places are worth visiting. I love taking pictures of sceneries/landscape. Thanks! USA – fly to athens, fly athens-santorini,fly back to Athens, fly to Dubrovnik; bus day trip to Montenegro(atlas tours); back to dubrovnik; bus day trip to Mostar; back to Dubrovnik; fly back to usa Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot everyone!

Hi Eldrick,
Combining Greece and Croatia in one trip always sounds logical, since they are fairly close together. However, have you checked the cost of that flight from Athens to Dubrovnik? I just picked a random day in late September and it looks like around $500 per person. If you have an adventurous spirit and a couple of days to spare, you could travel from Dubrovnik through Montenegro and Albania to Athens ... seeing more of the countryside, and saving lots of $$$. The coast of Montenegro is absolutely gorgeous and would make some fabulous photographs. If time is an issue, however, this is not a good option. How many days have you planned for this trip, and when are you going??

Hi Charlene, Thanks a lot for the reply! Yes, I heard the bay of Montenegro is gorgeous so I would love to go there :) We only have 8 nights to spare :( So I guess flying is our only option...
Do you this route is ok? Thanks again!

This will be a whirlwind trip, with lots of beautiful sights to photograph. You won't have much time to relax and soak it all in. But if you have only 8 days, and these are the places you want to visit, then yes, this route makes sense. On the trip to Montenegro, when we were there they offered half day and full day tours. The full day went all the way to Budva, with a stop at Sveti Stefan (which I understand is closed now, but it's still a great place for photos). The bus trip to Mostar is also a full day, so hopefully you can work in a "rest" day to see Dubrovnik (maybe go out to Lopud island for some beach time) between these two tours! Have fun!
