I will be in Istanbul in October after a 2 week cruise. I will be staying in a hotel in the Sultanahmet area. Is it easy to get a taxi to take me to the airport? How long does it take? How much does it cost?

Your hotel staff would be best suited to give you information about the options--it may depend on where your hotel is located. They can give you an idea of how long it takes and the cost.
We stayed in the Sultanahmet area in May and saw many cabs in the area so it shouldn't be a problem to get one.
Enjoy your stay in Istanbul! It's a fantastic city.

There is probably a mini-bus available from your hotel; this is a cheaper option. It runs around to a few hotels picking up passengers and then goes to the airport.

Taxi cab will cost you 25-30$. It's a 30-minute ride, but if there are traffic jams, then it may take 1 hour. It's very easy to get a cab, your hotel will provide you with a cab.
