Istanbul Tour Guide

We will be in Istanbul from May 13-17th and we would like to hire a private tour guide for a half a day - two adults. We love to walk and learn about history. Please recommend an English speaking guide, we would prefer someone with good pronunciation since one of the people is slightly hearing impaired. Please add their email address so we can contact them and arrange before the trip. Thanks so much!

Bari, I'd suggest contacting SRM Travel, as their Guides are outstanding! You can work out the prices and other details with them. Click the "Contact" tab at the top right for E-mail information. Happy travels!

Hi Bari,
Ken beat me to it, but I was going to recommend contacting SRM Travel as well. I took the RS Istanbul week tour last July and our RS guide, Yaren Turkoglu, works through SRM for Rick Steves. She was terrific! She was incredibly knowledgeable about Istanbul history, passionate, and very willing to offer her feelings about culture, politics, and fun things to do in Istanbul! She does have a Turkish accent, but she speaks wonderful English. I know SRM Travel provides other guides for the RS Tours as well, so even if Yaren isn't available, someone should be able to help you out. Enjoy your trip! Www.srmtravel.com

I highly recommend Salih of "My Local Guide - Istanbul" http://www.mylocalguideistanbul.com/ His English is very good and I would expect everyone in your group would be able to understand him. His group tour costs are very reasonable. He is available for private tours, but I'm not sure how much he charges for them.
