We are considering a last minute side trip from Istanbul to Odessa in the first half of July. We have heard of the M/V Caledonia ferry and wonder if others have tried it. Seems like rail takes too long and air costs too much.
Any advice from pros in Istanbul or Odessa??

Based on the ferry schedule, it looks like it takes around 36 hours to complete this journey and there is only 1 trip a week departing on Thursday - hence, you have to consider the time factor and whether the schedule fits.
Hi Arnold and thanks for the new link. We had already checked out Tripadvisor's Odessa (and Istanbul) Forums as a place to start. One trip a week does impact spontanaity. May end up flying after all.
