My son will be traveling in Eastern Europe: Pecs, Hungary Arad, Romania and Budapest, Hungary. Is it safe to drink the tap water there?

Yes. The only area of Europe where the CDC still considers the tap water potentially unsafe is St. Petersburg and the surrounding Leningrad Oblast.

I drank tap water in Hungary and Romania with no problems.
