We stayed at an awesome agroturizam in Istria. It was a highlight of the trip - awesome people. A few km from Hum.

Hi Mark,
We stayed a night in Opatija--kind of a splurge at Hotel Bristol, but there are lots of other hotels there. You can book and read reviews on trip advisor, etc. In Split, we really liked Villa Ana--a small brand new place. It has a great breakfast, quiet location, and is 5-7 minutes walking from the old town. (it's in Rick's book)

I recommend Drago apartment in Dubrovnik, smack in the middle of Old Town. Very clean, very comfortable.
