I need a tour guide with a car for a day in Athens

We will be getting off a cruise ship and will have a few hours to see Athens before we fly to Rome. I need a reliable tour guide with a car to accommodate our luggage. Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Lee has referred you to "George the Taxi DRiver" who actually is not one guy but a whole fleet of drivers who all claim to be George. They speak English and will accommodate your luggage.

However, their prices are quite high AND you should be aware, none of these taxi services are licensed tour guides. A private licensed tour guide (who must study for years and take tests) is quite a bit more expensive, and they usually don't drive.

The "taxi guides" are not allowed to accompany you onto a site, and thus will not be able to interpret what you see on the Acropolis, in the Agora, at the Olympic Stadium, or a museum, etc. What they do is point out buildings as they drive, and tell you anecdotes. Therefore, as long as they can only chauffeur you, you may as well look for the best bargain, and "George" is not it. I would suggest you do a Google search for "1-day Taxi tours of Athen" and e-mail al the links you like, and compare their prices.
