Hydrofoil from Piraeus (Athen's port) to Hydra

Hello. We fly into Athens on April 28, arriving at 2:05 pm. We have reservations for the next three nights in Hydra. I checked on the Hellemic Seaways website and it is too soon to book our tickets for the hydrofoil. My questions are, when will we be able to book them and how much time should I allow between our flight arrival and boarding the hydrofoil? Hos late do the hydrofoils run in the day? Finally, what is the quickest and easiest way to get from the airport to the port of Piraeus? I realize there will be cheaper ways but that's not my big concern this time. Thanks so much! This helpline is always my guide for tricky details!

There's already an 'unofficial' timetable for Sunday, April 28, showing a departure at 6:15pm. SEE FERRY SCHEDULES HERE Expect these tickets to go on sale later this month some time. If you haven't bought your tickets online through the HS website to be picked up at their office at the ferry port you can buy your tickets at the airport from the travel desk of Amphitrion Holidays in the Arrivals Hall between Doors 2&3 after you collect your luggage. Cash only, no CCs. All the way outside Door 5 is the ticket kiosk for the Airport Express X96 bus to the Port of Piraeus, which departs from that same general area every 20-30 minutes. The fare is €5pp and the trip takes about 75 minutes, traffic allowing. You'll find taxis out there as well, which will be a bit quicker. Expect to pay at least €35-40.

Thank you Lee! I followed your suggestion and looked at the tentative schedule. I am relieved that it looks like our timing could work for the 6:15 ferry. There are two listed. Both seem to end at Methana. Which ferry do I choose to get to the town of Hydra on Hydra? I guess the Hydra stop is before the last stop in Methana? Sorry to be confused in the fine details but thanks again for the very valued help! PS, I would have never found your website of ferry timetables on my own, I was only looking at Hellenic Seaways' site.

Upon closer examination of that 6:15 schedule I see that it is not a schedule for a ferry that stops at Hydra. I just assumed it was and I apologize for my oversight. But don't worry. Right now up until March 31 there is a 5pm departure you can still make with no problem. I'm sure this will be extended. There are always daily ferries to Hydra so later this month you will see what HS has to offer for April.

Lee, no problem, at least I now know what to look for, when and where! I'll just keep checking to see when those routes become available. Thanks again!
