We want to combine two of our favorite places in one trip, and are looking for an interesting way to get from one to the other. If we go inland, it looks like we'd travel through Bosnia, Serbia and Macedonia to get to Thessaloniki, where we could catch a ferry to Lesvos. I wonder if this is a safe and interesting area? Or we could ferry from Dubrovnik to Brindisi, then Corfu - Athens-Lesvos. The cheapest flights I can find take us from Dubrovnik to Rome to Athens to Lesvos, which does not sound appealing. Any suggestions would be welcome!appreciated!
