I am flying from Amsterdam to Athens and I realize that is way cheaper if I depart from Brussels instead of departing from Amsterdam. Any suggestion?
Is there any cheaper way to get from one place to the other. The airplane ticket is almost 400.00 per person from Amsterdam.
The fastest way to travel between the two cities is by train. You have two choices: the Thalys high-speed train, or the regular inter-city trains. The high-speed train does the route to Zuid Station Brussels in just under 2 hours. The IC train is about 30 minutes slower. From Zuid Station you'll have to transfer another train to the airport, there are connections every 15 minutes or so. The fare for the IC trains is about 40 euros, no advance reservations required, simply purchase your tickets at the station on the day of your journey. The Thalys trains use airline style fares...the earlier you book the cheaper it will be. Book early enough and you can often get restricted tickets for as low as 25 euros to Zuid station.
