Hotels or other places to stay in Prague in the winter

My wife and I are going to Prague in December for 6 days prior to Xmas. I am 73 years old and do not do well with cold weather even though I wear good clothing. We need a place to stay that is warm. We have spent the last two Decembers in England at BBs' and they were brutally uncomfortable for me even though hosts provided heaters for our room. Would a hotel be better? Any ideas for a comfortable trip?

Clement, I'm a bit puzzled on why you chose Prague at that time of the year? Although you'll be able to stay warm inside Hotels, you'll be subject to the cold and possible wet weather as soon as you venture outside the door for sightseeing. I was just in Prague and stayed at the Green Garland Pension. It was very comfortable, but I'm not sure what heating facilities they offer in the winter? Also, there are no elevators, so you might find a larger Hotel more suitable. Good luck and happy travels!

Last December we stayed in hotel Antik in Old Town of Prague. It is very close to Old Town Square where the Christmas Market is. It was cold and snowing almost every day. We were well equipped with winter clothes and boots so we liked it. The hotel room was small but OK for us. It was well heated, actually we could regulate the heat. If you want to be in Prague in winter (it's magic in snow) I would recommend that you stay in Old Town close to major sightseeing sights so you don't have to stay in elements longer than necessary.
