Hotels in Sofia

hi Edwin, I stayed in the Red House B&B in Sofia, conveniently located in the city centre. It's actually an apartment in a cultural centre which has on-going programmes of film, talks, forums. If you book one room, you're sharing the apartment with other people. Shared bathroom and kitchen. We had the whole apartment so not a problem for us. It's pretty basic, with a red colour scheme, kinda looks like grandma just moved out and took most of her stuff with her. Breakfast is served quite late in the mornings in the cafe in the basement, which looked like it could be a pretty happening place in summer. Rates from 25 euro and up. It had mixed reviews on Tripadvisor but I felt it was OK if you're used to hostels or dorms.

I stayed at a rather cheap hotel called "Hotel Rodina" on Vitosha Boulevard. This was 9 years ago, and at that time, the hotel was under renovation, so perhaps some of the more... um, how shall I say this... "communistic" features of the hotel might be gone by now.
