has anyone stayed at a reasonable but nice hotel in sifnos, prefferably in the town of apollonia? i could really use some suggestions here, thanks- we will be there in august

Here is the travel agency -- Aegean THesaurus -- that books most of the 'reasonable' accommodations in Sifnos... there is a branch of this agency right in Appolonia. I suggest you contact them right away. Sifnos does not have an abundance of accommodation, and August is the busiest month as i am sure you are aware.
