hotels in Istanbul

We will be arriving in Istanbul a day ahead of our Rick Steves Turkey tour and probably will stay at the same hotel as the tour for convenience. However, since the price is very expensive (Azade Hotel 200 euro),I am looking for a comperable hotel for our return visit of 3 days at the end of the tour. Any suggestions?

We just stayed at the Neorian which is fantastic. Right off of the tram line in the older part of the city. Near the train station. http://www.neorionhotel.com/ We paid around 150. Free internet. Excellent breakfast, nice rooms. I would stay there again.

HI Diane, we used Rick Steves' guidebook and stayed at Hotel Sari Konak in Old Town - steps away from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. If Iremember correctly it was about $150 Euro (we were there Oct 2011). Fantastic hotel, rooftop terrace, good breakfast, close to everything, quiet. Highly recommend. Hope this helps

I stayed at Old City Viva (per referral from here) and it was very reasonable and had a great breakfast and was in a perfect location. It was definitely very reasonable and while not luxurious I was very happy and would stay there again.

We stayed at Hotel Sultan Hill, per Rick Steves' guide. It was directly behind the Blue Mosque. Wonderful place and reasonable. At breakfast we happened to be sitting beside Rick's next door neighbor! http://www.hotelsultanhill.com/

I also recommend the Sultan Hill. The rooms are small but the location and the rate make this a good deal. I stayed there for three nights in October. The staff is very accommodatng. They have a computer in the
lobby for guest use and a nice breakfast is served each morning.
