Hotels Athens

Would like a recommendation for a mid-priced hotel in Athens. Centrally located near tourist sites or shopping & restaurants. Thanks.

What is your maximum daily room budget in Euro, when will you be there and for how many people? "mid-priced" doesn't mean anything.

About 3 years ago we stayed in hotel Palace Elektra. Beautiful and spacey room and bathroom, great location in Plaka. It was around 100 Euro. It was beginning of November, weather still nice and warm.

Check out the website for the Plaka Hotel. It is near many of the sights you will want to visit and it's what I would call a mid-priced hotel. I haven't actually stayed there though, so perhaps others can chime in on this one. Have a great trip!

What I mean by Mid- priced is in the middle of the range for that city. Not a hostel and not a Four Seasons. I know that if I am asking for Paris vs Krakow the dollar amount will change. I guess I am asking for 'middle standard' and I will have to pay whatever that is. I know I can look this stuff up myself, but I would prefer a note from someone with a referral who has been there. I don't know how to give a dollar amount when I don't even know what hotels cost there. I probably shouldn't assume anything, but I did think most people on this site were of the same thinking as RS. Clean, comfortable, 2 or 3 star hotel, near the sites, not pretentious....etc. I have a lot of trips coming up this year and after 7 hours working out flights I just want to find a hotel.... One adult, one child.... beginning of July

try hotel attalos. its about 2 min walk from the motro with good location. for basic price rooms you can get one without view and no breakfast. the roof top bar is reasonably priced with a great view.

Certainly you must know what your maximum limit will be, the rate beyond which you won't go. Mid-range means something different to everyone. Prices range from a low of around €40 up into the hundreds of €, so 'mid-priced' could mean €200-300 if that logic is used. Give us a clue!
