Hotels and 3 travelers

Hi, I will soon be going on my first Euro trip with two other people. We are trying to keep the costs down and with 3 people it becomes difficult to get the peoper number of beds. My question is does anyone know what the general fee is to add an additional cot/bed to a hotel room? Do most hotels allow this? I realize the fees may vary drastically but just an idea would help.

We are trying to stay away from hostels.

Thanks.

Hi, I dont know the additional fees, but we traveled in a group of three and it was never a problem for extra bed, and the cost was minimul. Also a couple of places it was almost as cheap to get a single room which we did for a break, since the 3rd person was my teenage son.

There's no way to know, it's an arbitrary charge levied by the hotel. If you know where you want to stay, before you go check to see if there's a website. If so, lots of times it'll state what the extra bed charge will be.

A lot depends on which country you travel in. I have read on this page that the cost will run from $5 to $10 a person per night. There may be others who charge more. Yes, most hotels allow extra beds.

I agree with Lee. Read the hotel webpage; there is usually a lot of useful info.
