Hello all - looking for a hotel in Ljubljana,Slovenia, they seem to be more expensive than I've been seeing - have you stayed anywhere you'd recommend? Clean, comfortable, pleasant, with a good location? Thanks so much for your help!

Thanks for the suggestion but it is all booked for the time we are going at. Will be there in July. Any other places you could recommend?

Hi Maria,
We stayed at Hotel Park in Ljubljana--not fancy but perfectly located between the train station and downtown. Check out the reviews on Trip Advisor--they're mixed--some people love it and some hate it. For us, it was fine--we spent 4 nights.

We recently (mid May) stayed for 5 nights at an apartment from this site - specifically,it can be found at http://www.apartmaji.si/nastanitev.php?id=11
The apartment was just north of the train station and a 10/15 easy (ie flat) minute walk to the center of old town. There were a few good local restaurants as well as grocery stores and a market close to the apartment. So, conveniences close by while close to main center but at better prices than hotels we had checked out in the center.
As an aside - Ljubljana is a beautiful city with great architecture. We love Barcelona for its architecture and now think of Ljubljana as a "mini" Barcelona. Enjoy your time visiting this lovely city.
