Also, if we stay outside Dubrovnik (in July) is it difficult to get into Dubrovnik?

Hi, I'm not sure if you've found your accommodation yet. Generally, renting apartments or rooms (sobe) in Dubrovnik is a better deal than a hotel stay as hotels tend to be on the expensive side. Most hotels are outside the old city, but public buses will take you to the city gate. I found my apartment through Dubrovnik Online which has comprehensive listings; alternatively there are rental agencies like Dubrovnik Apartment Source. Hotel Bellevue is within walking distance of the old city - about 15 mins' walk - and is located on a lovely bay with a pebble beach.

A wonderful B and B to stay at is the Casa Boninovo or House Boninovo, only 10 min. walk from the city. The hosts are friendly and helpful and the breakfasts are delicious. The place is clean and in a historic old house with a view of the water. The address is Branitelja dubrovnika 54. The price in EUROS is 70 per night in July. I don't have the website address, but I am sure you can find it on the internet. Good luck! Linda
