hotel recommendations in Budapest and Vienna

Does anyone have recommendations for hotels in Budapest and Vienna which are centrally located for touring on foot and by public transportation?? We don't mind spending about $175/night. Thanks.

Pension Suzanne is a nice B and B in Vienna located just down the street from the Opera. In Budapest, consider the Hotel Victoria, on the Buda side of the Danube with stunning balcony views of the houses of Parliament, the Danube, and the Chain Bridge. Though I haven't checked this year's prices, last year they would have been in your price range. We stayed at both last summer and highly recommend them.

In Budapest, the Marriott has a great location - not sure what the going rate is. You get a great view over the Danube and the Chain Bridge.

Can't help in Vienna - when we were there 5-6 years ago we stayed at the Bristol which has a great location but I'm guessing is very pricey now.

We stayed at the Pension Suzanne in Vienna earlier this month.
We rented one of the "apartments" - big with full kitchen and looked like most of it had just been remodeled. Paid about $120 E.
I would stay there again in a minute. Try to contact Michael if you decide to check it out.

Thanks for your help. We did make a reservation at the Victoria Hotel. Unfortunately Pension Suzanne is booked. We will try Pension Nossek. Anyone have recommendations for Berlin for 4 (we are bringing our adult children for a weekend). Feels like a whirlwind vacation!
