where to stay on Naxos? We are a family of four (kids are 10 and 12) need ac, pool, and views.

There are two good places to search: http://www.thegreektravel.com/naxos/hotels.html and http://www.naxos-island-greece.com/naxos-hotels/naxos-hotels.html. You find a place that has the amenities you want and then you email or call! The grotta area is north of the castle area (which I think would be fun, but maybe not as much for the kids who would like the beach close by), and St. George's beach. Our family of 4 (kids 14 and 15) will be staying on Naxos on St. George's Beach and we found a studio near the beach with a kitchenette (but no pool) for 80Euro. Good luck! /sue p.s. didn't think of a kitchenette until I found them plentiful and not that much than a hotel room.
