hotel near Athens international airport and Rome Fiumicino airport

For Athens check the Attica Avenue Holiday Inn, St. Thomas B&B, Peri's Hotel and Pantheon Hotel. The Holiday Inn and Peri's have free shuttle service. If you don't have an early-morning flight you might also consider staying in Rafina and taking the bus (20-30 minutes) back to the airport. The Avra Hotel and the Corali Hotel are less expensive than St Thomas B&B and there's more to see and do in Rafina.

Chrystyna "inexpensive" means different things to different people For some, that means 100€, for others, €40. For best advice be more specific. Close? Again... it's relative. ATH airport is really lame. The only hotel AT the airport is Sofitel (200-300€ per room). There's Holiday Inn Attiki Avenue ? 100€? .. website says free shuttle but if you have to be there by 5 am, I don't know... 2-3 others to google are St. Thomas B & B, @ €100 about 15-minutes by taxi (€15?), Peris hotel same distance, but about €70 has a shuttle IF you don't have an early plane. Also Hotel Coralli at Rafina, about 30 minutes by bus. Google all.

Chrystyna We've stayed in both Peri's and the Corali in Rafina and both are fine. Peri's is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, although there is a nice taverna about 5 minutes away. The people were really helpful both in terms of picking us up from the airport and getting us to a bus for an early morning boat from Rafina. The Corali is in Rafina itself so you have more choice of restaurants, and an opportunity to walk around the port. As Janet has said the bus from there takes about 30 minutes from the airport. It's actually generally quicker than a taxi as the bus has permission to cut through the airport but taxis have to take the long way round. Have a great trip. Alan
