honeymoon planning i slovenia and croatia in last week of december

hi

I am planning my honeymoon from 17 dec - 1 jan in austria, slovenia and croatia.....

I am planning to go to lake bled on 26 and 27 dec .... I have heard amazing reviews of plitvice lakes... is it advisable to go there in december...what is the route and which mode of travel would be ideal...

Which place in croatia shus i visit from plitvice lakes for 2 nights and 3 days which is the time available to me before departing back from vienna......
Any personal suggestions regarding more travel in croatia or slovenia most welcome, recommend which would be ideal in winter

I've not been to Plitvice Lakes park in winter (fall both times), but know Croatians who have and they say it's wonderful. There's a photo gallery that includes winter pictures of the park on the offical website, www.np-plitvicka-jezera.hr. If you visit Plitvice, be sure to eat at Restaurant Licka kuca. Food is excellent. Try the grilled trout, which is fresh from the lakes. Best to have a car if visiting Plitvice. I rented one in Ljubljana for the drive to Croatia and returned it there, and the price was quite reasonable. You could also take the train to Zagreb and rent a car there. Either Split or Zagreb would be other cities in Croatia to consider. Split might have milder weather in December, but Zagreb is on your way back to Vienna. Both are worth a visit.
