Homestays in Istanbul/Turkey

Any suggestions/recommendations for homestays or inexpensive lodging for a solo female traveler?

Thanks!

I traveled solo to Turkey and had no problem finding inexpensive lodging. Turkey is fairly cheap in general, and extremely safe. If you are interested, you can read my blog - it has information on all the hotels I stayed in. I never spent more than $60 a night on a hotel, and they all included breakfast. . http://mardeeinturkey.wordpress.com

I believe the least-expensive accomodations you'll find online are called "Pansiyon", so if you do a Google search for, say, "Pansiyon in [wherever]" you should come up with a list of good options. I actually stayed at the Pansiyon Alias in Bodrum. I found it by walking around. It was close to the water, just below the Mausoleum, and it was very nice with a garden setting, little prefab bungalows around a little in-ground swimming pool. I don't think I spent more than $25. There are dozens and dozens of pansiyons in Bodrum. http://www.tumpansiyonlar.com/index.php/ege
