Has anyone used Priceline, etc, to book a 4* or 5* hotel in PRAGUE?

We are looking for a 4* or 5* hotel in Prague and they are
very expensive. Have you used a bidding engine such as Priceline or Hotwire for such a hotel in Prague? Thanks much.

You should be able to find the answers to your question on biddingfortravel.com since it covers what people have bid for and were successful for different hotels in different cities.

We used hotels.com for a hotel in Prague and got Hotel U Tri Pstrovu ( three ostriches ) for $141. For some reason we did not go priceline( I think we never got any counter offer below $300) but used it for Vienna and got Wien Marriott for $140. Have stayed there before and it is very nice--****. If you decide to use PL, visit biddingfortravel.com first so you can see what other people manage to get for their bid. Good luck!

I have used Priceline successfully for autos and hotels in the US for several years. I usually start bidding at 50% of the room rates for the city.

Read the how to bid page the other responder suggests.

I would reduce your hotel to a 3 star. That would be safe in Prague.

When you inspect the room you can always upgrade before taking it.

We booked through charming-prague-hotels.com. We stay two different places. They were fantastic! Returned 13 Oct 08.

Thru Travelocity, we just stayed in the Hotel General last month for around $170/nite and should be even cheaper now with the improved rates. The General was very nice and clean with super friendly staff and a great breakfast. My wife thought the decor of the bedroom and bathroom was outstanding. It is not in the center of the tourist district but very near the Andel metro station which is south of the little quarter.
