How can I find out information on the route, schedule and price for car ferries? We will be in Croatia early May. Any suggestions about seeing the islands with or without a car? Patricia

I suppose it depends what islands and what you want to see. My personal preference would be to not have a car, since most islands are smaller, have good bus service, and the arrival port is usually the biggest attraction. Considering daily cost of the car, parking, fuel, and the cost of the ferry, it may be cheaper to travel by bus and ferry, then if you get to an area where a car would be nice, rent one for a day or two, then move on. If you do go forward with a car, verify with the rental agency that they allow their cars on a ferry, some do not.
