So, what do you think? Given the choice, which one do you think is better to spend a day/night? Thanks for any advice.

Since I know nothing of Cssky Krumlov, I would have to say "Hallstatt". I would choose Hallstatt over just about any location I know...

Cesky Krumlov is terrific! I don't know Hallstatt though, so I guess it depends what you like to do when you travel. In CK, we went horseback riding, river rafting and ate at a lot of fun and cheap restaurants. The town is totally scenic, but there aren't a ton of sights to visit. We enjoyed the fact that it wasn't overrun with Americans - my impression was that many Czechs were enjoying their weekend there.
