I know Rick does not cover Egypt. Any suggestions for a guidebook of comparable quality or approach? I will be ordering online (bookstore had none) so want to get an idea of what is good before I do. Thanks!

If you hit the "Best Destinations" (top of the page), then "Beyond Europe", Rick has an article on visiting Egypt. He recommends Lonely Planet and Rough Guides. I bought the Lonely Planet Egypt and think its very good. It's not as easy to follow as Rick Steves, but nothing else is. Rick also visits Cairo and Luxor on his DVD series, which is quite good to watch.
