We will be in Hungary in October and wanting to stay in or near the town of Tura, does anyone have any recs. for a little hotel or guest house near there. Will also be renting a car and driving to Milevsko & Prague (2-3 days) so any side trips & accommodations for that trip is much appreciated as well

I won't help you with Tura. On the way to Milevsko you can stop in Telc (pronounced Telch). It's in the list of UNESCO heritage places. Also close to Milevsko are Tabor and Pisek worth of visit. There is a lot of information about my recommended places on google. I wouldn't bother with reserving accommodation in October. Especially if you have a car. Plenty of options. You stay where you like it. You will probably find that 2-3 days for trip from Tura to Milevsko, Prague and event. even side trips is too little. Not to mention round trip. The drive will take longer than it would take for the same distance in the US. Freeways are fast (if there is no accident) but once you are off freeway, roads are narrow, slow moving vehicles are difficult to pass, you go through many towns and villages where speed limit is 50 km/h. Driving and parking in Prague is a hassle.
