Greek Island ferry route...help!

Hi all,
We are planning to travel through Greece for 9 nights and 10 days. I'm looking to our ferry route and I'm stuck! We will fly to Santorini via Olympic Air, but I can't seem to figure out the ferry connections. We're possibly stopping in Naxos and Mykonos then to Athens. Can anyone suggest how I can get from Santorini to Athens?

Thanks in advance!!

Both Naxos and Mykonos are on the main ferry route from Santorini to Piraeus(Athens' Port) You do not mention the month you will be travelling, but just about any time except Easter and days in August you can get a ticket for the ferry. I suggest you wait until you get to Santorini, then pick about any travel agency in Fira and book passage to Naxos a day or two before you leave. In Naxos, again book what is convenient for Mykonos, and in Mykonos for Piraeus. You certainly could do all at once on Santorini, just depends on how set your schedule is. Keep in mind though, ferries do not always run on time, or sometimes at all, so flexibility in tickets and lodging is important. On that route, you will also hit Ios, Paros, and usually Tinos. If you are flexible, you could always spend a few hours to overnight on one of those islands as well. The route you will be on is served by multiple lines with multiple departures each day during the season.

To add to Paul's good information, the ferry that connects Santorini with Naxos operates daily. Tinos is not on the same ferry route that connects Santorini with Ios, Naxos, Paros and Athens/Piraeus. Neither is Mykonos, which is on a different highspeed ferry route that includes Crete, Santorini, Ios, Paros and Mykonos. Tinos IS on the ferry route that includes Mykonos, Andros and Rafina on the mainland (the alternative to Piraeus).

Once the schedules are published by the various ferry companies you will be able to see them all here:

To get an idea of what to expect next summer you can also use the Openseas website's calendar function to backtrack to last summer to see what was available then. Use "Piraeus" for Athens.

Schedules for May-June should be out by mid-April. Some already are. For the Piraeus>Santorini schedule go to

Click on 'Domestic Lines' then select 'Cyclades' and 'Itineraries'

Here is a link to the schedule for the highspeed ferry that connects Santorini with Mykonos. Take note of the no-sail Wednesdays:
