Greek Honeymoon in June

Starting from the USA, I would suggest that you fly to Athens. You'll arrive early in the morning. Continue on to Santorini without going to downtown Athens. Consider Aegean Arlines. They have great great special rates for those who book early. On Santorini I would stay in Oia. It is a place that would be great for a honeymoon. Plan to be there four nights.

Next, catch the ferry to Naxos and a visit of three nights. Rent a car and explore the island. They have tiny cars that are inexpensive to rent. Your hotel can arrange it. There are some nice beaches and it should be warm enough to enjoy them. Possibility of great sunset photos.

Finally, return to Athens. Pick a hotel in the Plaka. We like the Electra Palace. From the roof top see the Acropolis with lights at night. Romantic and memorable - you bet.

I like George's suggestion. I think Santorini is a must and Naxos is a nice choice because of it's size and diversity. Saving Athens to the end is important because it makes sense to fly to Santorini ferry to Naxos and Ferry to Athens then you need some safety time in Athens before heading to the Airport, just incase the ferries are grounded for bad weather. I wasn't sure if you meant when you said "other than" if perhaps you want to avoid Santorini. If you want to try to do something other than Santorini then perhaps Mykonos with a day trip to Delos. If you are avoiding Santorini for crowds though, I don't think Mykonos is much of a relief. Whenever my wife and I need a 2nd-15th honeymoon we pick Amorgos. It is really quiet with an interesting cliffside monastary and very little else except for a beautiful quiet place. Crete is great too but requires some time (I would fly).
