Greek ferry schedule problems

I want to leave SW Turkey on May 26th to go to Santorini then Iraklion and then Athens. Iralkion then Santorini is acceptable. But I can only find a ferry from Bodrum to Kos and not from Kos to Santorini or Iraklion. Ferry Company web sites and and Paleologos emails tell me that the government has not "approved" their schedules yet and that they will not be known until sometime this month. But I have to plan now! May 26th seems like late enough in a shoulder season that something should be available, but i do not want to leave this to chance.

Sorry, but you're just going to have to wait, just like everyone else. The approvals will come but you must be patient. Once they are available you can see all ferry schedules here: http://www.gtp.gr If you see something with red writing that says "not officially approved", those will more than likely be your choices once approval is granted. I'm seeing 2 ferries for May already approved between Rhodes and Heraklio on Crete, and the schedules for Heraklion to Santorini is also official now.

Thank You. What I would most want to know is what the ferry schedule was in previous years on the assumption that this year will be the same. I looked on the internet but could not find anything like this.
Do you have any idea how soon a complete schedule will be out?

Sometimes you can go to http://www.openseas.gr/openseas/index.html and use the calendar function to backtrack, but what's the point? Having an idea of what the schedules used to be won't do you much good if they're not the same this year, and relying on past schedules to make plans assuming the schedules are going to be the same is just asking for problems. What I can tell you for sure is that those schedules I've already found are fixed for the dates indicated and regarding the one for Crete to Santorini it's been the same for at least a decade. If you want to go from Rhodes to Santorini first take a look at the Blue Star Ferry website. That's the company covering that route. It's been running on MWF for years. The complete schedule for May should be out sometime this month. Be patient.

One final thing as I wait---Has there been a Kos-Santorini in the past and do you know how many times a week?
