Greece - the Lousios Gorge

We would like to visit the Lousios Gorge in the Peloponnese region of Greece in October for about 2 days.
Can you stay at the monasteries in the Gorge? Moni Aimyalon? or the monastery of Nea Moni Filosofou?
Is it strenuous to walk from Dimitsana to Nea Moni Filosofou and back in one day? (that is why we'd like to stay there overnight if possible)
I am trying to find an English language tourism website of the region - any suggestions?
Any suggestions for local tour companies? Nice cheap hotels or B&B's?
Thank you in advance for any help!

very good article. read. quick answers: doesn't sound like it. maybe. these places are so remote that i really don't think there's any tours going there. some of the monks speak eng. also try http://www.dimitsana.gr/ use google translate and go to "sightseeing". in general, when sthg's really remote or the info's hard to get at, google the name of the village/city it's in and go to the village website. try to use the original language. that way, you can get up-to-date travel info on the site, like accurate opening hrs and prices, and whether the place is closed for renovation indefinitely; stuff like that
