Greece/Istanbul itinerary

Planning to go late May, and here is our rough itinerary so far:
Athens- 3 nights, with day trip to Hydra; Delphi- 2 nts.; Napflio- 2 nts; fly to Santorini (via Athens)-3 nts; fly to Istanbul-3 nts. Pls. critique and tell me what you think. Are there flights from Santorini to Istanbul? Thanks for all your input.

Not enough time at your various destinations. It's too rushed. You're going to be spending too much time packing, unpacking and moving from place to place. No flights from JTR to IST. You'll have to return to Athens first.

If you don't already have your tickets booked, you might re-arrange your trip: Fly into Istanbul, 3 nightsFly to Athens, then directly on to Santorini for 3 nightsFly or ferry back to Athens for the rest of your trip I agree that Athens>Hydra>Delphi>Napflio is a lot for 7 nights. You might add a day to Athens and visit Delphi as a day trip.

Having done this trip myself, I totally agree with Charlene. If you start in Istanbul, your trip will flow much more easily.

Thank you for all your replies. Much appreciated. Will change itinerary and monitor airfare to IST.

We found cheaper RT airfare to London and connected RT London to IST with British Airways last spring. Worth a look maybe. You will wish you had more nights in Istanbul, trust me on that.

Thank you George. I will check that out. I also found open-jaw fares cheaper by a total of $1600 from JFK to IST, then ATH back to JFK. (thank goodness we have family in that area). :-) Suddenly I'm not looking at $4600 airfare for 3 coming from CLE.
