We are considering a trip to Greece in late December. Is this a very poor time to go since it appears that many things, such as most of the islands, are pretty well closed up until spring. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thank you.

We're also going to Corfu, Greece in late December. Though many of the resort accomodations are closed, we've found lodging and those who have written about Greece in December seem quite happy with their experiences.

Are you going for sightseeing , historical and archeolgical sites etc. or are you going for beach time and nightlife? If the former go for it, if the latter , not a great time.
