Greece Guidebooks

I hope that I'm not asking a question that has been asked, I looked but didn't see anything posted too recently. When I travel in Europe, I always use Rick's books. Since he doesn't have one for Greece, I'm feeling a little lost. Someone has recommended Lonely Planet's most recent edition--any other suggestions?

There is a little info about Greece under 'Best Destinations'. Also mention of other guidebooks.

We used Fodor's and the Michelin Green Guide - very useful.

Also note that there is a good place to post questions on the Fodor's website under traveltalk. There are some very experienced travelers there.

Sadly, all of this doesn't equal a RS Guide. I think many of his readers would like such a guide very much and I wrote him about it. The reply was that there just wasn't enough time available to cover it.

It is a great trip. Don't give up.

I found Lonely Planet good, found Let's Go to be better though mainly because they update more often. Rough Guide and Frommers were good as well, but more limited in room and food offerings as well as a bit more upscale (Not bad if you prefer a more luxurious trip)

in addition to LP and rough guide - Ive read that the CADOGAN guides (british?) are very good with lots of art/architecture history if you like that. not sure on their food/lodging compared to the other big names. I try to get two of the most recent editions of LP or RG or LetsGo etc - dep on your budget of hotels. But which ever two you get - pick the newest editions! 2007 or newer!
