Greece 9/12 for one month solo guy

I live at the beach but am not a beach person. I want to see ruins, etc. Thinking of Athens, Delphi, Olympia. Islands of Rhodes and Crete. Should I go to Santorini as well? Any history there or just beaches...? Thanks for your reply!

Santorini isn't known for the beaches. They're black or red rock/pebbles/grit and can be very hot on the feet. But the archaeological sites of Ancient Thera and especially Akrotiri are well-worth it, not to mention the amazing clifftop villages and vast views over the caldera.

You might enjoy the sacred island of Delos, a small uninhabited island near Mykonos (also accessible via day trip from Naxos and Paros, although less frequently in September). Google it, and you'll see it's covered in ruins. If you go to Rhodes, you might take a couple of days to visit the tiny nearby island of Nisyros. No ruins, but an active (but not erupting) volcano. You can walk around inside the crater. We found it fascinating. Loved the island ... one road, 3 or 4 towns, really inexpensive.
