I would like to travel through Croatia working my way down from to Dubrovnik and then go to Italy, Naples or Rome Does anyone know a way out of Dubrovnik. I know the ferry but that is time consuming and then I am in Bari and 5hrs from either

Most ferries from Dubrovnik to Bari run overnight, so they replace a night of hotel and it's a pleasant trip. That said, morning train connections from Bari to Rome or Naples aren't good, and you may have to wait until midday to catch a train. Also, the ferries don't run every day. Flying to Rome is the other option, although I'm not certain how cost-effective it would be. You can fly Dubrovnik to Zagreb and Zagreb to Rome on Croatia Air year round. And there are usually seasonal direct flights between Dubrovnik and Rome, but my recollection is they don't fly daily.
