My cousin and I are in Croatia and need to make our way down to Greece from the southern Dalmation coast (Split and Debrovnik area). However, our options seem to be limited and, as we are traveling on a budget, we are also limited by money. What are the fastest and most affordable ways to get from Croatia to Greece?....considering ferries, flying or riding busses and trains.
I was going to ask you to do a search but not sure you will get much.
Here is what I know and can suggest. My guess is that the fastest way is to fly but this will be expensive.
The next easiest is probably to take a ferry to Italy and then another one to Greece. Going by road may be cheaper (I'm guessing) but will take you time and will be challenging.
By road, you need to get to Ulcing in Montenegro. There is a bus daily from Dubrovnik to Kotor - not sure if it keeps going further south. From Ulcinj, you need to take a minbus (1 or 2 a day) to Skodra in Albania. From there it is another easy minibus ride to Tiran, Albania. From Tirana you should be able to make you way south and then into Greece.
