From DBV to Medjugorje via public transit?

Hello, I'll be arriving at DBV airport this Monday at 1830~ timframe and need to Medjugorje for a meeting the next day. It looks as if a bus leaves from Dubrovnik for Medjugorje but I'd only have about 40 minutes to get from airport to town bus stop which I am told is cutting too close. Do you know if getting one of the more common busses to Mostar will then allow for the short trip to Medjugorje via bus or taxi Monday evening? My scheduler is fairly fixed with arrival and meeting time, and the company has already paid for the hotel Monday night so I'd like to get there. Not really being a toursit for this trip (I've seen Dubrovnik before, great town, and I'll try to get some time in Mostar, but I need to knock out work in Medjugorje first.) Thank you
Jim

Jim, Medjugorje is an interesting choice for a meeting! I cannot speak to public transport in Bosnia but I do know public buses are well used and generally well available. Public buses in these countries are also used by school children; they are well run and maintained. I would suggest you check (email) with your hotel in Medjugorje, they would certainly know the answer. I will be going 2x the distance you will travel between two towns in Croatia. The bus cost is about $7USD. I will pay $15.00 and have a driver/taxi take me. If you agree on a cost with the hotel, they may have a driver available to meet you in either Dubrovnik or Mostar. Medjugorje is an active pilgrimage spot and there are many ways to get there. Try this from Dubrovnik. There should also be an easy bus from Dubrovnik. I have used these folks for in and around Dubrovnik http://lujo-travel.hr/en_home.html
[email protected] They were excellent in cost and service. Ask for Niks(h)a. OR http://www.medjugorjetransfers.com/ [email protected]

Thank you for the links, I am literally going over them now. I'm having trouble contacting the hotel in Medjugorje but will keep trying. I am actually arriving at 1630 not 1830 so hopefully the earlier arrival will give me more options. I found a transfer service for 120 Euros from the airport (others were 165) and I'm checking out your links. My wife is a European Catholic and definetly filled me in on the pilmgrimage part. I am not Catholic but will spend an hour or two of free time taking in the sites there and try to get up to Mostar too. Thanks again for the links!
