folklore dinner in prague

We are heading to Prague tomorrow for 3 days. Has anyone got a recommendation for a folklore dinner?

i had one in the government/embassy area under the castle hill on a back street a couple of years ago but forgot the name. it has a small entrance, with a little window at the curb level. the theme is a catacomb setting, so dead people reaching out the window, and skeletons in the basement, etc. pretty cool, and they have local dancers dressed up and you can dance with them. good food with a lot of meat, beer & vodka, good quality stuff. but, in the end they did try to cheat on my bill and my polish friends got into a pretty bad argument with them because they wouldn't give them the change back. So just be careful this bad behavior is not uncommon in these kind of touristy restaurants...

To avoid David's experience book ahead this folklore dinner in Prague. You pay when booking and then just eat, drink and watch and listen to folklore performance. No paying in the restaurant. They even come for you to your hotel and after a dinner they deliver you back. More information on this website: http://www.pragueexperience.com/places.asp?PlaceID=644
Sorry, I tried to make website clickable but unfortunately it does not work.

The one to go to is Folklore Garden www.folkloregarden.cz . Pay in advance through your hotel & have them arrange the transport which is included in the price. It's pretty good. Finally, after all the years I've been going back home with him, my Czech husband let us attend last May since my Aunt & her friend were with us. He previously would say that's just for tourists. We all had a blast. The funny thing is he got teary eyed when they were playing folk songs from his childhood and he thoroughly loved participating in the broom dance. I'm gluten free & thought I might not be able to eat, but Guest House Lida made sure they knew to give me gluten free substitions.

Guesthouse Lida is the place I stay when not with the inlaws. Been staying with them for more than 11 yrs when they were only a budget mention in RS book. While the location might not be for everyone since it's in Prague 4 - I find it perfect when I'm either coming in from or leaving to the Czech countryside via car. CS Rental car in the Congress Center is only 1 metro stop from Lida.
