Flying to Poland

We are flying from Frankfurt to Krakow . Will we need to clear customs in Poland when we land , Also we will be on an all night train from Krakow to Budapest so we go through several countries at night with several tickets . When we did this years ago every new country involved a stop and a bang on the sleeper door to see tickets and passports. Has all of this changed now in the new Europe Community or should we plan on little sleep and lots of door bangs

Since both Poland and Germany are now both part of the Schengen area, you shouldn't have to go through customs/immigration.

Did the night train from Krakow to Budapest not too long ago. You can still expect to be woken up a few times for passport checks. When the conductor woke us for our stop in Eger, he had coffee and a nice prepackaged croissant for us. When I opened my croissant package, I must have won a prize, because there was a polish 10 note inside! You can see a picture of our berth at our personal blog at http://gadtravel.blogspot.com

I just flew from Warsaw to Frankfurt and it was very easy. No customs check.
